A good week.

Quite a bit to catch up on. I've been feeling properly well again and getting through some of the jobs I kept moving down the list.

The attic is insulated now. I put the insulation between the joists, over the bedroom ceilings, and left the roof itself alone. Carrying it all upstairs took longer than I expected. Working under the low parts wasn't much fun either, but it's done. The bedroom seems to hold its heat better in the evening. I'll have to see what the electricity bill says.

I finally got the armchair out of the basement. Taking the legs off hadn't been enough, so I ended up pulling it apart down there and carrying it out in pieces. I'd spent far too long trying to save a chair I didn't even want. It's gone now, and I can get down the stairs without turning sideways at the bottom.

The kitchen took most of a day. Tools are put away, empty boxes are out, and I've got the whole table back. I kept finding things I'd been looking for in other rooms. There's also a little electric water heater under the sink now, so I can wash up with hot water without carrying it down from the bathroom. I washed everything that had been sitting on the counter and made dinner while I still had a clean place to prepare it.

The apartment has sold, too. That happened much faster than I expected. The agent called with an offer, we talked it over, and I accepted. There's still paperwork to finish, but I went over and brought back the books. They're stacked in the bedroom until I find somewhere for them.

On the way home I went through the McDonald's drive-through to celebrate. Got an Arch Deluxe, large fries, a Coke, and a McFlurry. I usually order a Big Mac, but I felt like trying something else. Ate at the kitchen table when I got back, with the books still in the car.

It's been a good week. I've got a few things crossed off the list, and for once I haven't added more than I've finished. Tomorrow I'd like to get the rest of the loose wood out of the basement. With the chair gone, there's finally room to move around down there.

I had to dismantle a couch in a rented house once. The landlord insisted it had gone through the doorway whole, though nobody could tell me how. Your chair brought that back. I imagine you're tired of looking at it; I'm absurdly pleased you got it out.

You got that chair out! I was wondering about it. Should have taken a picture of the thing in pieces.
