NEW!
Moving in properly.
I'm eating normally again, though I'm still taking things slowly. I did a load of washing yesterday and put the bedroom back in order. It was good to get the window open for a while.
Being stuck here for those few days made me realize I can manage here full time. I've got hot water now, somewhere to sleep, and enough of the kitchen working to feed myself. I'd kept thinking of staying over as a temporary arrangement, but I haven't been back to the apartment and there's very little there that I need.
There aren't any furnishings left to move. A few books, mostly. Nothing I have much attachment to, and no particular memories I want to hang on to. I've been keeping the place without really knowing what I was keeping it for.
I called a real estate agent yesterday about putting it up for sale. There's paperwork to sort out, and I'll need to go over and collect the books before anyone starts showing it. I thought I'd hesitate once I actually had someone on the phone, but it was an easy conversation.
I feel settled about it. More than I have about much else lately. I want to make a fresh start here, and selling the apartment feels like part of doing that.
It should help with the work, too. No more driving back to fetch something or packing up because I need to leave. Once I've got my strength back, I can get a full day in and pick up where I left off the next morning. I'm hoping to make some decent progress before the end of the month.
